Corcione, Michael W. ALBANY Michael William Corcione, age 90, entered into eternal life on March 1, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Pasquale Corcione and Mary Corcione Troiano. Mike was born in West Albany, N.Y. and currently resided in Albany. He was a member of the Albany Local 190 Brotherhood of Laborers since 1949. Mike was a construction foreman for Callanan Industries until his retirement in 1982. Following his retirement, Mike embarked on a second career as a supervising C.P.A. (car parking attendant) at Albany Medical Center Hospital from 1982 until 1997. Mike was a lifelong gardener and loved having his hands close to the earth. He took pride in nurturing and watching his flowers and vegetables grow, and he received great satisfaction from sharing the produce of his labors. Mike was a loyal professional wrestling fan for over 50 years. Most of all, he loved being with his family and sharing his life lessons and experiences with them. He was a generous friend to all. Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anne Kimmel Corcione. He was the devoted father of Patrick (Sarah) Corcione of Voorheesville and Richard H. Corcione of Slingerlands; the loving grandfather of Andrew, Emily, and Gregory Corcione; and the loving brother of Anthony (Frances) Corcione of Loudonville, Rose Miller of Latham, Frances Skorupski of Albany, Mary Troiano of Colonie, Antoinette Hoffman of Latham, and the late Daniel Corcione and Dominick Corcione. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Mike's family wishes to thank the compassionate nursing staff at Albany Medical Center D-4, the staff of the Community Hospice of Albany, and Mike's caring friend, Casey Goyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church of St. Catherine of Siena, Hurst Ave., Albany. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden, Colonie. DuCharme, Francis C. ALBANY Francis C. DuCharme, 79, of Albany, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at his home. Mr. DuCharme was born in Troy, raised in Cohoes, and lived most of his life in the Capital District. He attended Siena College, Fordham University, and St. John's Law School before entering the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean War. He was employed for many years by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and briefly by the New York State Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse. After his retirement, he was employed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany for 19 years. He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Albany for nearly 25 years, and was active in the parish choir. Mr. DuCharme is survived by his wife, Marjorie Berney DuCharme; his children, Jane Wingle (Ronald) of Albany, Mary Ann Matters (Rick) of East Greenbush, Peter DuCharme (Anne) of Altamont, John DuCharme (Ann Marie) of Rexford, Paul DuCharme (Marianne) of Los Gatos, Calif., and Helen Matz (William) of Latham; his sisters, Florence DuCharme Gordon (Paul) of Loudonville, and Helen DuCharme Swisshelm (Byron) of Lutz, Fla.; his grandchildren, Amanda, Katrina, and Rebecca Wingle, Amber DuCharme, Gregory and Alexa DuCharme, Adam, Evan and Jake DuCharme, and Benjamin, William, and Joshua Matz; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph G. DuCharme and his sister-in-law, Dorothy DuCharme. Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Saturday morning at 8:30 and from there to St. Catherine of Siena Church at 9:30. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Carr, Harry A. Jr. ALBANY Harry A. Carr Jr., 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital. Harry was born on October 19, 1926 in Albany and was the son of the late Harry A. and Anna Mae (Salisbury) Carr Sr. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a self-employed plumber for many years, and an avid golfer. Harry is survived by his children, Deborah A. (Frederick) Dollar of Freehold, N.Y. and David B. Carr of Hartford, Conn.; his grandchildren, Christopher J., Jeffrey J., Jessica L. and Joseph T. McNally; and his great-grandchildren, Jacquilyne Cassandra, Jayden McNally and Evania Hill. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow in Memory's Garden in Colonie.
