Corcione, Michael W. ALBANY Michael William Corcione, age 90, entered into eternal life on March 1, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Pasquale Corcione and Mary Corcione Troiano. Mike was born in West Albany, N.Y. and currently resided in Albany. He was a member of the Albany Local 190 Brotherhood of Laborers since 1949. Mike was a construction foreman for Callanan Industries until his retirement in 1982. Following his retirement, Mike embarked on a second career as a supervising C.P.A. (car parking attendant) at Albany Medical Center Hospital from 1982 until 1997. Mike was a lifelong gardener and loved having his hands close to the earth. He took pride in nurturing and watching his flowers and vegetables grow, and he received great satisfaction from sharing the produce of his labors. Mike was a loyal professional wrestling fan for over 50 years. Most of all, he loved being with his family and sharing his life lessons and experiences with them. He was a generous friend to all. Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anne Kimmel Corcione. He was the devoted father of Patrick (Sarah) Corcione of Voorheesville and Richard H. Corcione of Slingerlands; the loving grandfather of Andrew, Emily, and Gregory Corcione; and the loving brother of Anthony (Frances) Corcione of Loudonville, Rose Miller of Latham, Frances Skorupski of Albany, Mary Troiano of Colonie, Antoinette Hoffman of Latham, and the late Daniel Corcione and Dominick Corcione. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Mike's family wishes to thank the compassionate nursing staff at Albany Medical Center D-4, the staff of the Community Hospice of Albany, and Mike's caring friend, Casey Goyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church of St. Catherine of Siena, Hurst Ave., Albany. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden, Colonie. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Zwack & Sons, 633 Central Ave., Albany. To express condolences, visit: scott-barbieri.com
