William B. Tuthill went to be with the Lord his Saviour on February 26, 2009. He was born in Binghamton on December 22, 1926. Bill was predeceased by his parents, A. Russell and Ruth Tuthill. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Beth Tuthill, of Arvada, Co.; daughter, Amy Tuthill, of Binghamton; son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Ellen Tuthill, of Austin, Tx.; four grandsons, Evan, Ian, William "Baker", and Bennett. He is also survived by his dear sister, Ruth Kelly, of Endwell; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ken and Helen Baker, of Dublin, Oh.; a nephew, Russell Kelly; and niece, Shelley Baker; several cousins. Bill was a graduate of Binghamton High School and Harpur College. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Following his service he joined his father in the family business, Tuthill's Photo Center, locally owned and operated for over 100 years until his retirement in 1992. Bill was an active member of the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church and an antique car enthusiast, a hobby the family enjoyed together for many years. Bill was a gentle and humble man devoted to the family he loved. His life was full and blessed so are our lives full and blessed for having him. We thank God for him -- his loving family.
A Memorial Service to be held on March 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church is pending. Plans will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the church prior to the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church's Endowment Fund, 1061 Chenango St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901 or the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research, 1510 Zamia Ave., #102, Boulder, Co., 80304.
