John G. Blakley
John G. Blakley of Dunnellon passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Citrus County Hospice, Inverness, FL. Born in Queens, New York, he had made Dunnellon his home since 1988, moving from Hicksville, Long Island, NY. John was in the U.S. Army Air Force and worked as Draftsman in the paper products industry. He was Catholic in faith and enjoyed writing letters for the newspaper and to Sound Off. He and his wife were members of the Citrus Springs Civic Association and he was active in shuffleboard, softball and horseshoe club. He also was known as a Prankster.
Survivors:
Wife of 62 years, Carmela Blakley.
Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2009, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 5, 2008, at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270 Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
