Joan Schuyler of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 66.
Daughter of Clayton Smith and the late Mabel Owens Smith, she was born July 2, 1942 in Elizabeth, NJ. She was married to Robert Schuyler, who survives at home.
"Joan was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, who touched all our lives. Her spirit lives on in each and every one of us. Our family would like to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers."
Joan graduated from Newburgh Free Academy and was a member and Deacon of Union Presbyterian Church in Newburgh. She was the produce manager of Shop Rite on North Plank Road, Newburgh.
In addition to her loving husband, Robert, she is survived by her father, Clayton Smith; her son, Eric Dinino and his wife, Rachel of Newburgh; grandchildren, Danielle and Gabrielle Dinino; brother, Richard Smith and his wife, Edwina of Newburgh.
Visitation was held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
A Memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 23, at Union Presbyterian Church, Newburgh, NY, with The Rev. David Mason officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be made to Union Presbyterian Church, 44 Balmville Rd., Newburgh, NY 12550.
