June Bailey Hogan, of Highland Falls, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009
at Sound Shore Hospital in New Rochelle, NY.
She was the daughter of
Catherine and Francis Bailey and was born June 19, 1922 in Kingston, NY. She was
the widow of James M. Hogan.
June was a retired elementary school teacher
for the Highland Falls School District. June taught third grade for over 20
years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls, as well as a
graduate of Ladycliff College. In fact, June and Jim met while she was attending
Ladycliff and they married the summer of her graduation. June enjoyed being with
family and friends. Since January 2008, June has resided with her son, James and
his wife, Joan, at their Eastchester home.
Survivors include her
daughter, Sharon and husband, David Baker of Highland Falls; grandson, Brian
Baker and wife, Diane of Woodbury, CT; and granddaughter, Christine Trieste and
husband, Christopher of New Windsor. June was known as "G.G." to her six
beautiful great grandchildren: Riley, Jackson and Marley Baker, and Tyler, Ryan
and Emily Trieste. June is also survived by her son, James M. Hogan, Jr. and his
wife, Joan; and three grandsons: James, Jonathan and Joseph; several close
cousins and many nieces and nephews. June's only sibling is her brother, William
Bailey. Their lifelong love and friendship was indeed special. Bill resides in
Paramus, NJ with his loving wife, Rosalie. June and Jim's eldest child, Maureen,
predeceased them.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, from 2-4
& 7-9 p.m. at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland
Falls.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2,
at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main St., Highland Falls with Rev. Jack Arlotta
officiating. Interment will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Highland
Falls.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital,
501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
