Formerly of Chili & Poughkeepsie, NY. Passed away peacefully with his family
at his side on February 4, 2009, at age 90. He is survived by his loving wife of
63 years, Doris Puttock; children, Lorre (George) Anderson, Robert (Mary)
Puttock of Fairfax, VA, Marilyn (Joe) Sullivan of Poughkeepsie, NY;
grandchildren, Jeff (Maria), Mike, Steve (Chrissy), Mark (Robin), Julie
(Patrick), Erin & Kelly; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lorraine
(Grover) Kistler; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends at the Villages
at Unity. John was very involved in the war effort during WWII as a Troop Train
Escort with the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was very proud to be a retiree of IBM
after 33 years of service.
Family and friends are invited to call Sunday,
2-5 PM at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South, where Services
will be held in the Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home on Monday at 9:30
AM. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to the Unity Health Foundation or the American Lung Association in
his memory.
