Liquor inspection brings four arrests
Suffolk County Police have arrested four people as a result of a State Liquor Authority (SLA) Inspection at a Port Jefferson bar.
Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers, assisted by Sixth Precinct Community Oriented Police Enforcement (COPE) Officers and investigators from the New York State Liquor Authority, as well as investigators from the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshall's Office, conducted an SLA inspection at the Old Port Pub located at 140 Main St., Port Jefferson.
· Bartender Joellyn Maloney, 36, of Smithtown, was arrested for selling an alcoholic beverage to a person under the legal drinking age. She was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree.
· Bartender Raymond Monsen, 64, of Port Jefferson, was arrested for selling an alcoholic beverage to a person under the legal drinking age. He was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree.
· William C. Edwards, 37, of Centereach, was arrested as an Unlicensed Security Guard under the New York State General Business Law.
· The owner, John Springer, 44, Port Jefferson, was arrested and charged with Employing an Unlicensed Security Guard under the New York State General Business Law. He was issued appearance tickets for 5 ABC Law Violations. He was issued appearance tickets for seven fire code violations by the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshall.
The fire code violations have been forwarded to the Port Jefferson Village Fire Marshall for a follow-up investigation.
