SANDRA TOBIN WHITE PLAINS, NY Sandra (Sandi) Tobin, of White Plains, NY, beloved spouse, mother, stepmother, aunt and cherished friend, passed away on March 14th, after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind her devoted domestic partner of 16 years, Valerie Hufnagel; mother Fay Tobin; daughter Dani Sandler; stepson Jason Chamberlain; niece and nephew Pamela and Vincent Torres; niece Dawn Apostolou; brother-in-law Paul Apostolou; grandnieces and nephews; her dogs Amber and Sky; and many close friends. A licensed social worker with private practice offices in White Plains and Paramus, Sandi held a Masters in Social Work from Adelphi and was a member of the NASW and the National Guild of Hypnotists. Sandi enjoyed travel, shopping, ballroom dancing and time spent with family and friends. She had a keen style sense, whether choosing an outfit or a kitchen tile. Sandi was elegant, beautiful and loved life, and that is how we will always remember her. Visitation hours will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19 at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home. Funeral services will be there at 10 am Friday, March 20. Entombment to follow at Rosewood Mausoleum, Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of White Plains, St Jude's Children's Hospital or Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
