Police seek carjacking,kidnapping suspect

A search is underway for a dangerous carjacking suspect.  Bakersfield Police say he forced a teenager a knifepoint to drive him across town, and it gets worse.

This is the man who police say carjacked, kidnapped, robbed, and even stabbed the teen.

And police need your help to find him before he strikes again.

Police say the victim, an 18-year-old, was sitting in a car at Tevis Park in southwest Bakersfield last Monday evening around 6:30, when this man, jumped in, brandished a knife, and ordered the teen to give him a ride.  That doesn't sit well with park goers.  "Kinda weird that they would do that at a park I mean it's not cool to do that to somebody like at a kid's park most of all," says Josh Gerard, park-goer.

Police say the suspect forced his victim to drive nearly nine miles, into the central part of town, all the while, threatening the teen's life.  "He kept the knife point to the man and directed him to drive through town, he apparently he knew where he was going so we believe he's familiar with the area," said Bakersfield Police Sergeant Mary DeGeare.

They ended up, in the 3900 block of Marriott Drive off Rosedale Highway - in the hotel circle.  Police say the suspect then robbed the victim, and the victim tried to escape.  "He kinda got to a point where he thought I think I can get away and when he tried to run the supsect tried to stab him twice," DeGeare added.
