Richard Paul Rossi Resident of Burlingame Born Nov. 6, 1922 entered into rest on
Friday, October 30, 2009 surrounded by his family. Loving and devoted husband of
sixty-two years to Virginia, father to Paul, Anne Shelley (Terry), Carlo
(Missy), John, and Lynne Horiuchi (Gordon). Survived by ten grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Sarah Ellen,
grand-daughter Kristen Lynne, sister Elena Long and daughter-in-law Alice Rossi.
He is also survived by brother Robert (Evelyn) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Santa Clara University School of Engineering (Class of 1944) and a
devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Angels Parish for sixty years. Mr. Rossi was
the grandson of Pietro Carlo Rossi (Amelie), wine-maker and first president of
Italian Swiss Colony Wines. Son of Robert and Nellie Rossi, he was a native of
San Francisco, graduated from St. Ignatius High School (Class of 1939) and
retired from Binks Mfg. after a career that spanned 49 years as Branch Manager.
The patriarch of four generations, Mr. Rossi was proudest of his family and
friends; he loved traveling, spending time at his summer home at Asti in Sonoma
County and also enjoyed his semi-annual vacations to Hawaii. The family would
like to extend their heart-felt thanks to Visiting Angels (Karen, Irene &
Joyce) and all those who have offered their support and prayers during this
time. Friends may pay their respects Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 6:30 P.M. at
Our Lady of Angels Church, 1721 Hillside Drive, Burlingame, CA. where the Vigil
service will be held at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the
Church, Thursday, November 5, at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at Holy Cross
Cemetery, Colma, CA In lieu of flowers, contributions in the name of Mr. Rossi
may be made to the Capuchin Franciscan Friars, 1345 Cortez Ave., Burlingame

Dorthea Mayer In Burlingame, August 1, 2009. Loving wife for over 60 years of
the late Sylvan Mayer; beloved mother of William Mayer (Lynne) and Linda Duerson
(Alan); devoted grandmother of Jaime Mayer, Michael Duerson (Tracee) and Lauren
Duerson. A native of San Francisco, born March 20, 1917. Graduate of Lowell High
School, Class of 1934. A resident of Burlingame for over 50 years, Dorthea
enjoyed the last five years living at the Magnolia of Millbrae. Dorthea was
active for many years in the Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary. Private services are
being held at the Hills of Eternity Memorial Park in Colma. In lieu of flowers
memorials to your favorite charity are appreciated.

Joseph Griggs 83, of Burlingame passed away June 25. His
Daughter, two Granddaughters, and five Great Grandchildren survive him. Joe grew
up in San Francisco, graduated from Commerce High and served in the United
States Coast Guard. Joe retired from Southern Pacific after 34 years. He was an
avid baseball player, coach and umpire. The Peninsula Sport Officials
Association recently honored Joe for 40 years of service. Joe coached Girl's
Softball and Basketball at Burlingame High and Sacred Heart. Friends and ball
players are invited for visitation on Thursday, July 2 from 4 - 8 PM and a
Funeral Service at 7 PM. Crosby-N. Gray and Co., 2 Park Rd. Burlingame. Private
burial is at Holy Cross Cemetery.
