Residents in two east Chula Vista communities won't have to wait an extra year after all to get parks they paid for when they bought their homes.
This year, City Manager David Garcia decided to save money by delaying by one year the construction of Mount San Miguel Community Park in San Miguel Ranch and All Seasons Park in Otay Ranch.
At the time, Garcia said that despite having the funding to build the parks, Chula Vista couldn't afford the day-to-day upkeep, an estimated $198,000 annually.
