Police Blotter for the City of Cupertino (8/4/2008 - 8/10/2008) Print E-mail

Vandalism - Stonebridge Drive
Between 10:00 AM on 8/7 and 9:40 AM on 8/8, unknown suspect(s) spray
painted several garage doors in the 22000 block of Stonebridge. The
total amount of damage was about $100.

Vandalism - Dove Oak Court
Between 4:00 AM on 8/6 and 11:50 AM on 8/9, unknown suspect(s) spray
painted on a vehicle parked in the 10000 block of Dove Oak Court. The
total amount of damage was about $400.

Grand Theft - Stelling Road
At 2:00 PM on 8/2, unknown suspect(s) took an unattended and unlocked
bicycle from Memorial Park on Stelling Road. The bicycle was worth
about $700.

Attempted Vehicle Theft - Valley Green Drive
Between 7:30 PM on 8/5 and 10:00 AM on 8/6, unknown suspect(s) used a
metal letter opener to break the ignition on a vehicle parked in the
20000 block of Valley Green Drive but were unsuccessful at starting
it. The amount of damage was about $200.

Petty Theft - Valley Green Drive
Between 6:00 PM on 8/6 and 2:00 PM on 8/7, unknown suspect(s) took an
unlocked bicycle from the 20000 block of Valley Green Drive. The
bicycle was worth about $357.

Vehicle Burglary - Park Circle West and Alves Drive
Between 7:30 PM on 8/5 and 7:30 AM on 8/6, unknown suspect(s) broke
through the passenger window of a vehicle parked at Park Circle West
and Alves Drive. The suspect(s) took an iPod, cell phone and wallet
for a total loss of about $850.

Grand Theft - Homestead Road
Between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM on 8/8, unknown suspect(s) entered an
unlocked vehicle parked at Michael's on Homestead Road. The suspect
(s) took a disabled placard, digital camera, cash, a GPS unit and
clothing for a total loss of about $1590.

Misuse of a Disabled Persons' Placard - Stevens Creek Boulevard
At 5:00 PM on 8/10, deputies contacted the driver of a vehicle at
Target on Stevens Creek Boulevard. Subsequent investigation revealed
the driver parked in a disabled parking space using a disabled
placard without being or transporting a disabled person. The suspect
was cited and released.

Misuse of a Disabled Persons' Placard - Stevens Creek Boulevard
At 4:45 PM on 8/10, deputies contacted the driver of a vehicle at
Target on Stevens Creek Boulevard. Subsequent investigation revealed
the driver parked in a disabled parking space using a disabled
placard without being or transporting a disabled person. The suspect
was cited and released.
 

Vandalism - Forest Avenue
Between 10:00 PM on 8/3 and 8:15 AM on 8/4, unknown suspect(s) broke
the rear window of a vehicle parked in the 20000 block of Forest
Avenue. The total amount of damage was about $300.

Credit Card Theft - Infinite Loop
On 7/25, the victim left her credit card in the ATM machine on
Infinite Loop. Unknown suspect(s) took the card and charged about
$567 on it in Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara.

Battery/Prevent Calling for Assistance - Plum Tree Lane
At 8:45 PM on 8/9 the suspect fought with the victim in the 10000
block of Plum Tree Lane. Subsequent investigation revealed the
suspect prevented the victim for calling for assistance. The suspect
was arrested and booked into Main Jail.

Misuse of a Disabled Persons' Plate - Wolfe Road
At 3:40 PM on 8/8, deputies contacted the driver of a vehicle at
JCPenny's on Wolfe Road. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver
parked in a disabled parking space using disabled plates without
being or transporting a disabled person. The suspect was cited and
released.

At 2:50 PM on 8/10, deputies contacted the driver of a vehicle at
JCPenny's on Wolfe Road. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver
parked in a disabled parking space using a disabled placard without
being or transporting a disabled person. The suspect was cited and
released. 

Identity Theft - City of Cupertino
On 7/27, unknown suspect(s) used two victims' information to open
several charge accounts at Best Buy, Circuit City, A&F, The Limited,
Lane Bryant and Victoria Secrets for a total loss of about $8000.

Vandalism - Santa Lucia Road
Between 8:00 PM on 8/7 and 9:00 AM on 8/8, unknown suspect(s) spray
painted words on a vehicle parked in the 10000 block of Santa Lucia
Road. The total amount of damage was about $1000.

Vandalism - California Oak and Stevens Creek Boulevard
Between 6:15 PM on 8/7 and 1:30 PM on 8/8, unknown suspect(s) spray
painted on a vehicle parked near California Oak and Stevens Creek
Boulevard. The total amount of damage was about $350.
 

Grand Theft - Rainbow Drive
Between 12:05 AM and 6:00 AM on 8/7, unknown suspect(s) entered two
unlocked vehicles parked in the 21000 block of Rainbow Drive. The
suspect(s) took two GPS units for a total loss of about $800.

Vandalism - Festival Drive
Between 8:30 PM on 8/9 and 12:00 AM on 8/10, unknown suspect(s) used
an unknown device to scratch two vehicles parked in the 11000 block
of Festival Drive. The total amount of damage was about $9000.

Possession of Stolen Property/Grand Theft/ Serial Number Defaced -
Howard Court
On 8/1, the suspect entered a side yard of a residence in the 19000
block of Howard Court using an unknown method and took an unlocked
bicycle worth about $1100. The bicycle was recovered in the 800 block
of Blaney Avenue. The suspect was cited and released to his parents.

Credit Card Theft/Identity Theft - City of Cupertino
On 6/30, unknown suspect(s) used the victim's credit card to open a
Netflix account in an unknown location. The suspect charged about $50
to the account. The victim lives in Cupertino.

Vehicle Burglary - Stevens Creek Boulevard
Between 6:30 PM and 6:50 PM on 8/5, unknown suspect(s) broke through
the passenger window of a vehicle parked at Scandinavian Designs on
Stevens Creek Boulevard. The suspect(s) took a bag containing a
laptop and extra hard drive worth about $1730.

Attempted Residential Burglary/Grand Theft - Gascoigne Drive
Between 7:30 PM on 8/7 and 8:00 AM on 8/8, unknown suspect(s) took
the garage door off the track but could not make entry into a
residence in the 10000 block of Gascoigne Drive. Unknown suspect also
entered an unlocked vehicle parked there and took a GPS unit worth
about $500.

Petty Theft - Gascoigne Drive
Between 6:30 PM on 8/7 and 7:30 AM on 8/8, unknown suspect(s) entered
an unlocked vehicle parked in the 10000 block of Gascoigne Avenue.
The suspect(s) took a Bluetooth earpiece worth about $122.

Possession of Marijuana - Hall Court and Rodrigues Avenue
At 11:25 PM on 8/8, deputies responded to a call of a suspicious
vehicle at Hall Court and Rodrigues Avenue. Susbsequent investigation
revealed the driver was in possession of Marijuana. The suspect was
cited and released.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle - Menhart Lane
At 8:00 PM on 8/9, deputies responded to a call of a returned stolen
vehicle in the 10000 block of Menhart Lane. The suspect and victim
knew each other and the suspect returned the previously stolen
vehicle from San Jose. The suspect is at large.

Battery - De Anza Boulevard
At 10:00 PM on 8/9, the suspect fought with the victim at the Cypress
Hotel on De Anza Boulevard. The suspect was arrested and booked into
Main Jail.
