Evelyn Pezzaglia 1918 ~ 2008 Evelyn
Elaine Steele Done Pezzaglia passed away peacefully on June 6, 2008, in Orem,
Utah. She was born to Golden Blanche Sorensen and Raymond Duane Steele on
November 13, 1918, in Goshen, Utah. Evelyn lost her mother when she was 16,
whereupon she assumed the care of her younger siblings until her marriage.
She graduated from Payson High School. Evelyn married John (Jack) Marsh Done
on December 4, 1938, in Goshen, Utah. They were later sealed in the Oakland
Temple. They initially made their home in San Francisco, CA, relocated to
Payson, Utah, and then moved to San Jose, CA, where Jack passed away in 1976.
Evelyn subsequently married Jack Pezzaglia. When he passed away in 1982 she
moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Judith
Ann Done Magnusson Olthof and Jacalyn Done Fisher Wiedenmeyer; five
grandchildren, Kristopher J. Magnusson, Kelly Anne Magnusson (Ernest)
Figueroa, Janae Magnusson, Tatiana Magnusson, and Jennifer Fisher (Russ)
Laird; five great-grandchildren, Ryan and Samantha, Emilie and Maximilian,
and Keyanna; brother, Paul D. Steele; sisters, Lois (Orval) Okelberry, who
preceded her in death, Helen (Shirley) Wilson, and Dorothy (Max) Burdick. She
is also survived by nieces and nephews, who showed special affection to
Evelyn while she was in assisted living. Evelyn was highly intelligent,
creative and refined, and had a great capacity for work, maintaining a full
life until her declining years. She was a dental assistant in Payson and San
Jose, and worked many years at Cupertino School District Admin. Office,
Cupertino, CA. She excelled as a seamstress, was an accomplished interior
decorator, and a superb cook. Ever active in The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, Evelyn served in many capacities, including Primary
President, Spiritual Living Teacher, and Hostess at the Church Office
Building in Salt Lake City. Memorial services will be held at the Walker
Mortuary in Payson, 587 South 100 West, on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 12
noon. Family and friends may gather at the mortuary from 10:45 til 11:45
prior to services. Interment will be in the Payson Cemetery.
