Obituary : Geraldine Mae Eklund Smith Print E-mail
Geraldine Mae Eklund Smith Gerry (Nana) Smith passed away peacefully on March 27, 2009 at age 91, in Cupertino. Geraldine was born in Pueblo, Colorado, in 1917. She moved to California in 1947 and made her home here with her husband, parents, and son in Menlo Park and in Sunnyvale. She will be remembered for her kindness and for her gentleness and wisdom. Geraldine is survived by her son, Larry (Gail) Smith of Sunnyvale; grandchildren Cindy (Ted) MacConnell, Jim Reed, and Robert (Patty) Smith. She had 3 great-grandsons, Riley, Cooper, and Casey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel, and her parents, Ruben and Amy Belle Eklund. Memorial Services will be held at 2 pm, April 18, 2009 at Sunnyview Manor in Cupertino. Donations in her memory can be made to the Sunnyview Chaplaincy Fund. Inurnment will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Pueblo, Colorado; services provided by California Cremation Society.
