John Patrick Lucchesi March 17, 1923-April 16, 2009 John "Pat" Lucchesi was a lifelong resident of Santa Clara County, a graduate of University of California at Los Angeles and San Jose High School. He had a long career with the City of San Jose, as its Code Compliance Supervisor for more than 34 years. He worked as a building inspector for the City of Santa Clara before he retired in 1989. He had recently remarried his high school sweetheart Laura Stasi Mahan and is survived by Laura, his three stepdaughters Regina Mahan (Terry Visger), Patricia Mahan (John Boyles) and Bernadette Mahan (Dr. Neal White), and "grandkids" Nik and Teddy Visger, Sean and Colin Boyles, Katherine and Allyson White. His first wife Catherine "Dot" Diquisto Lucchesi preceded him in death in 2003. John is survived by her nieces Kathleen Diquisto Swift (Sam) and Susan Diquisto Sinclair, and nephews Gary Diquisto (Cheryl) and John Steven Diquisto (Susan). "Pat" loved duck hunting and outdoor sports with his brothers Jacob Lucchesi and George Lucchesi, who survive him, and his brother Joseph Lucchesi, Jr., who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister-in-law Ann LaBabera and brother-in-law John Anthony Diquisto (Shirley), former San Jose City Councilmember. A World War II veteran, John had a distinguished military career flying B-24s for the Army Air Corps, successfully completing 35 combat missions. He was awarded the Distinguished Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. John never stopped loving life, good food and good times, despite coping with dialysis for many years. He died peacefully after suffering a stroke two months ago. He will be greatly missed by the many people who loved him. Vigil service will be held on Sun., April 26, at 7PM, Visitation 1-9PM, at Lima Family, Santa Clara. Funeral Mass will be at Mission Santa Clara at 10AM on Monday, April 27, reception following at Nobili Hall. Donations in his memory may be made to Satellite Dialysis, 10596 N.
