Paul "Tony" Harry Jan. 21, 1940-July 30, 2009 A long-time
Cupertino resident, Tony was born in Franklin, PA and earned a PhD in Music
Composition from the College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. He
taught at both the high school and university level, worked 10 years in the
Educational Division of Baldwin Piano and Organ, followed by a long and varied
career in educational and music publishing, including Addison Wesley and
Candlepower Press. He was a valued writer and editor in the Marketing Divisions
of Borland and Agile, among other local companies, and was a co-founder of
Active Learning in the Arts, a non-profit devoted to quality music programs for
children and educators. Tony was a private pilot and a talented music arranger
and CD/book producer. Active memberships included Friends of the Winemakers,
Nautilus, and Palo Alto Jazz Alliance, as well as a long-time affiliation with
The Music School in Sunnyvale. He is survived by his wife Doris, children Jill,
Julie, and Jay, grandchildren Zachary, Jessica, Emma, Claire, and Andrew, his
brother Dan and sister Molly. Memorial service 3pm Wednesday, August 5 at
Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, 728 W. Fremont Ave. In lieu of flowers, please
