Mrs. Severina Mazorra Berthold of Napa, CA, died surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Queen of the Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Severina was born October 4, 1931 in Gold Run, CA. She was the daughter of the late Manuel Lopez and Ollie Owen Mazorra. A former resident of Modesto, Severina owned and operated Severina's Aviation and Fuel Service. She married Robert Berthold on November 9, 1984 in Santa Barbara, CA, and the couple made their home in Napa in 1987 where Severina continued to operate the aviation service near the Napa airport. While a proud and determined businesswoman, Severina will be remembered most for her love of family. She treasured times spent with her children & grandchildren and found great joy in hosting huge family dinners where she could offer her family's Spanish dishes. She and Bob enjoyed travel, returning twice to Tahiti where they honeymooned and once taking seven family members on a memorable trip to Severina's fathers small home village of Villa Oscura in Spain. Severina was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Stanley. She is survived by her husband, Bob Berthold of Napa and family as follows: Children: Doug Kyler, Jeff & Madge Kyler, Greg & Chris Kyler, and Cass & Stephanie Hanson. Brother: Leonard & Pauline Mazorra. Grandchildren: Melinda Martin, Charlie & Kim Huntley, Drew Kyler, Zach & Ashley August, Ben Kyler, Jeff Marles, and Randy Marles. Nieces and Nephews: Paul Mazorra, Marty Mazorra, Brad Mazorra, Danny Mazorra, Dennis & Joanne Mazorra, Doug & Lori Hansen, and Theresa Mazorra. Great-grandchilren: Tyler Martin, Matthew, Karin, and Austin. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved German Shepherd, Lexa. Funeral service will be Friday, February 27, at 2:00 p.m., at Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel, 623 Coombs Street, in Napa, with the Rev. Thomas Foster of Modesto officiating. Committal will follow in Tulocay Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to the German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California, P.O. Box 1930, Cupertino, CA 95015.
