Capuchino's Li, El Camino's Hui advance in CCS badminton |

CUPERTINO _ Two singles netters and one doubles team from the Peninsula Athletic League picked up wins in the championship bracket at the Central Coast Section badminton championships in the opening day of play Tuesday at Monta Vista High.
Lorraine Li from Capuchino and Stanley Hui from El Camino each notched a singles win in the first round of play. Li downed Marian Lu from Prospect 15-9, 15-8, while Hui topped Terry Nguyen from Mt. Pleasant 15-7, 15-10. Both ran into the No. 1-seeded player in the 14-player brackets and dropped into the consolation bracket.
