Downey police today sought a 69-year-old man
with Alzheimer's disease who walked away from a hospital after being
brought there for treatment of low blood sugar, authorities said.
Louis West, who lives in Downey with his wife, also suffers from diabetes, Downey police said.
He was taken to Downey Regional Medical Center Sunday night, said Sgt. Jeff Calhoun of the Downey Police Department.
West
is African American, 6 feet tall and weighing 174 pounds. He has
brownish-gray hair, brown eyes and a gray goatee and was dressed in a
tan jacket and blue jeans. He may have a green hospital band on his
right wrist and may walk with a limp.
