Obituary : Alberta Warren "Jane" Print E-mail
Alberta "Jane" Warren, 77 ESCONDIDO -- Alberta Jane Warren passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was born November 3, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana, daughter of Marjorie and Edward Danielson. Jane grew up in South Bend, Ind. and attended Clay High School in South Bend, and South Bend College of Commerce, studying Stenography Courses. She moved to Chicago after college, becoming an Insurance Claims Assistant. Jane met James Allen Warren of Park Ridge, Ill., at a YMCA dance, and were married on September 30, 1955. The young family lived in Chicago until 1961, and then moved to South Bend. A job transfer took her to Indianapolis in 1982. James died in 1983, and she faithfully cared for both his elderly mother and her own elderly mother. In 1994, she decided to move to Escondido to be close to her grandchildren, and she continued to care for her elderly mother until her death in 1997. Jane enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, watching soap operas, playing the piano, and spending time with her friends. She was a warm person who made many friends. She was tirelessly devoted to her sons and grandchildren and spent many hours watching her grandson, Spencer, play baseball. In her latter years, she became quite a sports fan, often watching Notre Dame, Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Charges football games, and San Diego Padres and Chicago White Sox baseball games. She also dearly loved her cat, Samantha. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, James. She is survived by her sons, Mark Edward Warren of Escondido and Michael Glen Warren of Powell from Ohio; her grandchildren, Spencer and Hilary Warren of Escondido; her daughter- in-law, Pamela Warren of Escondido; and her brother- in-law, Jack Fisher of Mishawaka, Ind. No services are planned. Jane will be interred next to her late husband at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, Ind.
