Rudy Lopez Canalez ESCONDIDO -- Beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather, and
Great-Grandfather, peacefully slipped away Thursday, August 28, 2008, at his
home, surrounded by his loving family as he went to be with the Lord. Rudy was
born in Hanford, Ca., on January 24, 1935 to Jesus and Ramona Canalez. Early in
life, Rudy was a chef for several restaurants in Escondido, and later retired as
a Foreman in underground piping for Local Union 89. He loved cooking, camping,
horseshoes, playing cards, gardening and family BBQ's. Rudy will be remembered
best for his enthusiasm for life, great sense of humor and source of great
strength. The phrase "everyone's friend" fit him perfectly. He leaves behind a
legacy of love and will truly be missed. Rudy is preceded in death by his wife,
Ophelia Brieno Canalez. He is survived by his sisters, Sarah Mendoza of
Handford, Calif., Maryhope Ronquillo of L.A., and Lupe Hernandez of Handford;
four sons, Rudy Canalez Jr., of Hanford, and Rusty Canalez, Richard Canalez, and
Randy Canalez, all of Escondido; and daughters, Ufemia Heard of Bend Oregon,
Anita Bridges of Escondido, and Renee Schuble of Havasu, Ariz. Memorial service
will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 8, at Escondido Christian Center, 927
Idaho Ave., Escondido. 92027. Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido is handling
