Loretta F. Galotta June 24, 1922 - Oct. 31, 2009 Resident of Fremont Entered
into rest on October 31, 2009, age 87 years. Born in Clinchport, Virginia,
Loretta resided in Fremont for 49 years. Predeceased by her husband Theodore
Galotta in 2004 and son Dolen Bowen in 2009. Loving mother of Marlene Fries of
Hayward, Lomas Bowen of TN, William Bowen of Rio Vista, Carmine Galotta of
Fremont, Mike Galotta of Diablo Grande, Joseph and Constantine Galotta of FL and
Richard Galotta of MI. Dear sister of Edith Vaughan and Lillian Legg of VA,
Otelia Still of TN, James Bishop of KS and Dane Bishop of FL. Devoted
grandmother to 33 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by
many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, and cooking.
Loretta's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. Visitation will
be Thurs 4-8PM at Fremont Chapel of the Roses Mortuary, 1940 Peralta Blvd. in
Fremont with a Vigil said at 7PM. Mass will be held Fri 10AM at Holy Spirit
Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd. in Fremont. Internment will follow to Holy
Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward. Fremont Chapel of the Roses Mortuary

Garland D. Jefferson Sr. May 11, 1933 - Sept. 26, 2009 Resident of Fremont On
Saturday September 26, 2009 Our beloved Father passed away at Washington
Hospital in Fremont, CA at the age of 76. With His Family by his Side. Born in
Greensboro, NC. to Ray and Mattie Jefferson who preceded him in death. Dad's
family called him "Whimpy" for his Love of hamburgers growing up. At the age of
20 years he enlisted in the U.S. Army andwas stationed in Fort Jackson, S.C.
were he trained as a Light Weapons Infantryman. After making Sergeant in 1955 He
then transferred to Fort Ord, CA where he served the next six years in the Army
Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1961. He came to live in Alameda
County and that is where he met his Loving wife Fae of 50 years and preceded him
in death in 1999. After his discharge from the US army he became employed at
Rylock Corporation. He also work part time at Bob's Union 76 in San Leandro, CA.
In 1963 he went to work for the Pacific Gas and Electrical Company as a
Construction Helper where he worked out of the Hayward Yard. He latter
transferred to the Fremont Yard where he became known as "Boomer" or "Rough
Rider" for his driving position of Heavy Equipment operator. He retired in 1993
after 30 years of Service with PG&E. After his retirement he worked part
time as a transfer driver for U haul Corporation and a parts delivery person for
Allied Auto Store in Fremont. Dad loved to watch his San Francisco 49's and
Oakland A's Games whenever possible! Nothing could take him away from his
Thursday night Texas Hold'em card games with his Retiree Buddies. (Hey Guys no
worries I won't name names). Whenever possible he would sneak on down to the Bay
101 club for a few Hands of Texas Hold'em. He will be truly missed by all who
knew him. Proceeded in death by his four brothers and three sisters. He leaves
behind Daughters Linda Sifuentes (Ernie), Vicky Edwards both of Fresno, CA,
Geraldine Alexander of Fremont, CA and Marcia Wert (Larry) of Gilroy, CA and his
Only Son Garland D. Jefferson Jr. of Gilroy, CA, and adopted Daughter Ginger
Atkins (Ken) of Boulder Creek, CA. Papa will be missed dearly by his eleven
grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Dad also leaves behind his
brother Edward Jefferson (Louise) of Randleman, NC, and Sister Ann Ramsey of
Virginia Beach, VA, along with many Nieces and Nephews Services will be held at
Lima Family Milpitas Fremont Mortuary Cedar Lawn Memorial Park 48800 Warm
Springs Blvd., Fremont, CA 94539. On Friday October 2, 2009 viewing from
4:00-9:00 pm and a celebration of his life at 7:00 pm. On Saturday October 3,
2009 viewing from 9:00-11:00 am with Services at 11:00 am.

Stella Duran Jul. 26, 1930 - Sept. 20, 2009 Resident of Fremont Entered into rest on September 20, 2009 at the age of 79. Devoted wife of 62 years to Julian Duran of Fremont. Beloved mother to Sandra Duran of Fremont, Julian Duran, Jr. (Tammy) of Newark, Rocky Duran (Pat) of Fremont, and Ron Duran (Evelyn) of Lathrop. Loving grandmother to Rocky, Ryan, Ronnie, Adam, Erica, and Robert. Caring great-grandmother to Rocky, and Matthew. Dear sister to Richard Garcia. Longtime friend to Carol and Vince Mastracci. Born July 26, 1930 in Denver, CO, Stella enjoyed shopping at the Goodwill Store. She loved watching her grandkids. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, from 5-8pm with a vigil at 6:30pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 25, 10am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 37891 2nd Street, Fremont, 94536. Burial will follow at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward.
