Rose Catherine "Laman" Pirie
1914 - 2008 Resident of Fremont, CA Rose Catherine Pirie (Laman) entered peacefully into rest August 20, 2008 at her home in Fremont, CA. Born May 3, 1914 in Modesto, CA she was 94 years old. Rose was the original owner of Big Daddy's home of Fremont's first quarter pounder. She enjoyed square dancing, fly casting where she even won competitions, and loved her garden and port and chocolate. She was the original Rosie the riviter and a member of ABWA, President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer of several square dancing groups including Fremont Singles and Township Twirlers. Beloved mother of Patricia and Michelle and stepchildren John Jr., George and Betty. Dearest sister of James and John. Loving grandmother of Joy, Lane, Tuti, Jaren and Luc and great grandmother of Izabella, step-grandmother of Mike, Rayme, James, Lisa and Jeff. Also survived by her dog Chelsea and cat Tiger Lady. Family and friends are invited to attend a vigil Sunday, August 24th at 5:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 3:00 p.m. held at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels, 40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA. Funeral services will be Monday August 25th at 11:00 p.m. at the Mortuary followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
