ABELMANN, Georgia Morris (93), Glendale business and community leader, died Mar.
9; Owned uniform shop chain for 23 years; president of Glendale Adventist
Medical Center Guild, Oakmont League, Glendale Symphony Women's Committee,
Glendale YWCA; chair of local American Heart Assn., and boards of Glendale
Chamber of Commerce, Symphony Orchestra Assn., Adventist Medical Center,
Salvation Army, Assn. for the Retarded, Mayor's Prayer Breakfast and Friends of
the Alex. She grew up in Holly, CO. Her father owned a dept. store chain. After
a singing career, she earned a music degree at Univ. of Oklahoma. Married Mobil
Oil executive Warren Morris, lived on four continents and throughout US,
settling in Glendale '62. Morris died in '78. In '84 she married Ernst Abelmann,
who died in '90. Survivors: Daughter Melanie Richards, Fredericksburg, TX;
grandchildren Christian and Amber Ames. Celebration of Life: St. Mark's
Episcopal Church, 1020 N. Brand, Fri., Mar. 13, 1 p.m. Besides flowers,
