Ernestine McCart Nov. 17, 1915 - Oct. 28, 2009 Resident of Oakland Ernestine
McCart was a lifelong resident of Alameda County. She graduated from Piedmont
High School in 1933. She attended and graduated from Holy Names University and
later received a Masters Degree from Our Lady of the Lake College in San
Antonio, Texas. Mrs. McCart was in charge of the Alameda County Adoption Agency
and later worked in private practice as a psychiatric social worker, She
received awards of appreciation from Alameda County for her involvement with
children welfare. Ernestine McCart was preceded in death by her husband Elwood
McCart, a longtime Alameda City police officer and her daughter Andrea McCart.
She is survived by her sister Norma Cadenasso, a niece Teresa Garland and two
nephews Eugene Cadenasso and John Cadenasso. Funeral services and burial will be
