The Oakland Athletics officially announced on Wednesday that they have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with Jason Giambi, bringing the 2000 AL MVP back to the city where he began his career.

Financial terms were not announced, though Oakland did say the deal includes a club option for 2010. The San Francisco Chronicle reported on Tuesday that the deal is worth $4 million, with the option valued at $5.5 million with a $1.25 million buyout.
