Fred (Sonny) Beserra Jr., 70, of Ontario, passed away peacefully Aug. 27, 2008
surrounded by his family at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, CA. Born February 19,
1938 in Galesburg, IL, Sonny served in the U.S. Navy. He was a resident of the
Inland Valley for 58 years. He was a gardener for many years at Pomona Valley
Hospital and had been a security guard for Shield Security Inc. Sonny will be
remembered as a fri endly, out-going person with a big heart. He loved animals,
especially his horses and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his mother,
Lenore Newman and sister, Josephine Tarin. He is survived by his father, Fred
Beserra Sr. of Rock Island, Illnois; sister, Rose Ruddock of Alta Loma; nieces:
Christine Espinoza, Lisa Kissling, Yolanda Flores, Theresa Tarin & Sylvia
Samaniego; nephews, Jesse Navarrette, Joe Tarin & Greg Tarin; many aunts,
uncles, cousins, great-nephews, great-nieces and great-great neph ews.
Visitation will be Mon. Sept. 8, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m at Richardson Peterson
Funeral Home, 126 W. "G" St., Ontario, with services at Noon. Burial will follow
in Bellevue Memorial Park. Richardson Peterson Funeral Home entrusted with
arrangements.
