Margarita Chavez, 54, of Oxnard, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, in
Oxnard, after 16 months of illness.
She was born Feb. 22, 1954, in Tijuana, Mexico. She has been a resident of
Ventura County for 52 years. Margarita was a self-employed business woman for 25
years. She enjoyed dancing, cruising, travelling, and comedy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Rios; brother, Carlos Chavez
Jr.; and sister Carmen Gonzalez.
She is survived by her mother, Paula Chavez; siblings, Elisa, Marco,
Marisela, Juan, Jose, and Benjamin; daughters, Delilah and Angelica; grandson,
Samuel. She leaves behind 10 nephews and nieces; and nine grand-nephews and
grand-nieces.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at Reardon-Payton
Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at
Reardon-Payton Mortuary, with burial at Santa Paula Cemetery.
