Judith Ann Milton

Judith Ann Milton, 67, of Oxnard, died Sunday Aug. 24, 2008, after battling breast cancer for 2 1/2 years.

Judy was born June 11, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Ill., to Frederick and Ann Deitz. Judy moved to Santa Monica, Calif., in 1967 where she married, started a family, and shortly after moved to Oxnard, where she lived over 39 years.

Before her illness took over, Judy was an active member of First Baptist Church, El Rio for where she taught Sunday School for several years. More recently she was a member of First Baptist Church of Camarillo. Although her family will miss her dearly, we know as a believer she is in heaven with Jesus.

Inspired by Southwest art, Judy was also a talented artist, pastels and watercolor being her favorite mediums. She proudly presented some of her pieces at the River Ridge Golf Course. Judy loved life, often saying, "Life's good," and reminding herself and others that "God is in control." She would often share some of her favorite memories of visiting her grandparents' farm, visiting with relatives and playing with her cousins down by the creek.

Judy is survived by the love of her life and companion of over 30 years, Leo Sandoval of Ventura; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. William Milton and Lorrie Milton, of Oxnard; three grandsons, Billy, Nathan, and Bryson, all of Oxnard; daughter, Chanda Milton and her partner Sandi Baeten, of Port Hueneme; and goddaughters, Diana Cortez of Oxnard and Liani Salazar of Englewood, Colo.; as well as extended family in Illinois and Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ann Deitz; brother Frederick Deitz; and husband, William Milton.

Judy was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at First Baptist Church Camarillo, 1601 Temple Ave.; 484-2879. A private family interment is planned.

Conejo Mountain Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. For information call 805- 482-1959.
