Obituary : Graham Green Print E-mail
Graham Green, died December 22, 2008 in Redwood City, CA After a valiant fight, Graham Green died of non- Hodgkins lymphoma on December 22nd, at the age of 51.
Graham was known for his exceptional kindness and concern for others. Ever helpful and generous with his time, Graham enjoyed doing home repairs for family and friends. Pondering how such a sweet and good man could be taken from us so soon, brother-in-law Elliot said, "God must have needed Graham to do some fixing up for Him around heaven!"
Graham was an avid cyclist who routinely rode 22 miles to work each way, and completed many multi-day rides, including cycling across Iowa (RAGBRAI) and Utah (LAGBRAU). Graham was also a talented gardener and photographer.
Graham was a member of Congregation Beth Jacob in Redwood City, CA, and greatly valued his Jewish heritage.
Born in Massachusetts, Graham grew up in Danville, IL and graduated with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Rutgers University. He worked in biotech firms in Cambridge, Research Triangle Park, St. Louis and South San Francisco over a 20 year career, and was thankful that he was working at Genentech when he became ill because his co-workers have been incredibly supportive and caring.
Graham will be deeply missed by his wife Lee, who feels lucky to have been married to the nicest man in the world for 20 years. Graham is also survived by his brother, Gary Green and stepmother, Frada Green. He will be missed by the many people whose lives he enriched, including his cousins and aunt and uncle, with whom he had a particularly close bond.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 26th at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Rd. in St. Louis, MO.
