Man Sees Ex With Boyfriend, Attacks Both
Salinas Police Use Stun Gun To Subdue Man

Police said a Salinas man became so upset when he saw his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend at a grocery store that he punched both of them and then threatened them with a knife.

Fausto Reyes, 26, was arrested Monday at 7:29 p.m. at the parking lot of the Mi Pueblo grocery store on East Alisal Street.

Police said when Reyes first saw the couple, he became enraged and punched the boyfriend twice in the head.

When the couple retreated to their car, Reyes pulled out a box cutter and started scratching the vehicle, police said.

Reyes then followed the couple as they drove away. When the couple stopped, Reyes stood outside their vehicle with a knife and taunted them, police said.

Reyes' ex-girlfriend lowered her window and told Reyes to leave. Reyes, however, went up to the window and punched the woman and pulled her hair, police said.

When officers got to the scene, Reyes walked away from the vehicle but did not follow officers' commands to stop and show his hands, police said. Officers then used a stun gun to subdue Reyes, who was taken into custody.

Reyes was booked into the Monterey County Jail on suspicion of exhibiting a weapon, battery, vandalism, resisting arrest and violating parole.
