Lolita Eleuteria Dovolis, 74, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009,
after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 13, 1934, in El Centro. She was the
youngest of eight children born to her parents, Eleuteria and Bonifacio
Vinfrido. After graduating from Central Union High School, she immediately went
to Beauty College and on to owning and running a very successful, popular beauty
salon in El Centro. After marrying, she moved to Salinas during the 1950's.
There she raised her beloved sons, Kash and Angelo Dovolis.
Lolita worked in
the beauty business, never retiring, her entire life. She loved her customers
and fellow beauticians and the energy of the work. Classic Impressions in
Salinas was her last place of employment. Lolita was loyal to friends, committed
to family, industrious in work, mischievous when the opportunity arose but most
of all she was loved dearly. Her absence will leave a permanent ache in the
hearts of those touched by her.
She enjoyed playing bridge, cutting hair,
taking new classes, cooking fabulous family meals and especially going to the
movies with her granddaughter, Nicole. Lolita was a member of the Active
Seniors, Inc., American Contract Bridge League and the Carmel Foundation.
Lolita and her sisters were all solid anchors for their
families.
