Carol Ann Byrne 49, San Carlos, CA. Our beloved wife and mother, Carol Ann (Churchill) Byrne, was called to Heaven on September 15, 2008. After a long courageous seven year battle with cancer, Carol found peace at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 30, 1959 to Howard and Betty (Schmitz) Churchill in Burlingame, Carol was raised in San Carlos and graduated from Carlmont HS in Belmont. Carol received a BA in accounting from California State University at Hayward in 1982; there she met the love of her life, Tim Byrne, whom she married on May 7, 1988 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Belmont. Carol went on to earn a CPA license while employed with Cooper-Lybrand in San Francisco. Her 25 year career path included service to Wells Fargo Investment Corporation which became Barclay Global Investments of London, England. Carol advanced to become managing director in Global Operations at Barclays Global Investors. Outside of Carol's dedication to her career, she enjoyed participating in competitive softball and racquetball where she always excelled. Her hobbies included cake decorating, making crafts and playing cards. Carol religiously attended and enjoyed sporting events in which her son, Tim, and daughter, Tammy played starring roles. Carol is survived by her husband of 20 years, Tim; her 16 year old son, Timmer; her 9 year old daughter Tammy; her parents Howard and Betty Churchill of San Carlos; sister, Pam and brother-in-law Ron Chamberlin of Las Vegas; her brother Tom Churchill of Redwood City; nieces, Connie and Julie and grand nieces.
