Amid pay dispute, schools and leagues around county scrambling for soccer officials


Standing near the sideline, Bonita Vista High girls soccer coach Ron Pietila raised his left arm and pointed after a ball rolled out of bounds.


He wasn't pleading for a throw-in by the Barons. Pietila, working as an assistant referee in a home match involving his own team, was signaling possession for the opposition.
