Alice Rita Thompson died peacefully on July 29, 2008 at age 83. Alice is survived by her son Tom Thompson and his wife Jane Bradley of San Mateo; sister, Gladys Lila of Steven Point, WI; and her faithful dog Nikki. In 1990, Alice retired after 24 years with Shell Oil Company and relocated from Houston to El Granada to be near her son Tom. She enjoyed her retirement and kept herself busy reading, delivering Meals on Wheels, driving her pals to bingo five nights a week and most importantly cooking dinner for Tom once a week. Alice lived the last four years of her life at Bay View Villa Assisted Living in San Carlos with her dog Nikki. The highlight of her week was Thursday night dinner out with Tom and Jane at Izzy's in San Carlos and coming home with a steak bone for Nikki. A celebration of Alice's life will be held at Belmont Congregational Church, 751 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA, on Saturday, August 16 at 3PM with a gathering afterwards and party to celebrate her life at Tom and Jane's in San Mateo. www.crippenflynn.com
