Obituary: Clinton Sprigg Jacob PDF Print E-mail

Clinton Sprigg Jacob March 7, 1947 - July 12, 2008 Clinton died just as he lived, independently and on his terms. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Gifted with charismatic charm and a big heart, Clint made friends everywhere he went, from his police and firemen buddies in and around Ann Arbor, MI, to his supporters at service agencies from San Mateo to San Francisco, to the folks he befriended on trains and buses up and down the Peninsula. Challenged by cognitive delays from birth, Clinton learned to live on his own and did so for his entire adult life. He enjoyed socializing, working, traveling, bowling, horseback riding and University of Michigan football. Clinton moved to California from Michigan in 1995 to be near his brother Thom and his family. He adjusted quickly to the fine weather and became an aficionado of Bay Area mass transit. Clinton was the son of the late S. Sprigg and Mary Ellen Jacob; stepson of the late Vera Jacob; brother of Thom and his wife Audrey; step-brother of the late Richie Bekken and Rob Bekken and his wife Nancy; uncle of Jeremy and Tim Jacob and Katy, Alex, Zack and Abby Bekken. During the past year, Clinton had a dear apartment mate, Jessy, who brightened Clinton's life as he faced increasing medical ailments and treatments. A celebration of Clinton's life will be held in the chapel at Burlingame Presbyterian Church on August 27 at 4 pm. Donations can be made to the ARC of San Francisco and FHAR of San Mateo.
