Lillian (Lily) Gaspari Ghielmetti 1912 - 2009 Resident of San Mateo Lillian
(Lily) Gaspari Ghielmetti passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on April 7,
2009 at her home in San Mateo, California. Born in Manchester, California in
1912, Lily was raised with her three sisters and brother, Anita, Rica, Elsie and
John, on a ranch in Bennett Valley, Santa Rosa. After graduation from Santa Rosa
High School Lily moved to the "Big City," San Francisco where she met and
married her husband Germano (Jim) Ghielmetti in 1931. There Lily and Jim started
their family which produced three children, Jean Ghielmetti Olsen, Carol
Ghielmetti Wrenn and Jim Ghielmetti. In 1946 the family moved to San Mateo where
the ever-social Lily met many life long friends. Lily was a passionate gardener
and took particular delight in her roses. In addition to her children Lily was
blessed to have nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Lily lived
a long and happy life and will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have
known her. A private service was held on Friday, April 10. A memorial
contribution in Lily's name may be made to the Samaritan House, 1511 So.
