Mary Elisabeth "Smear" Heidenreich Was born on June 14, 1917 in San
Mateo, CA, and spent most of her life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She passed away at age 91 after a brief illness on Friday, September 5,
2008 at the Bruns House in Alamo, CA. She was preceded in death by her
parents Harvey Hamlin Hoxie (1951) and Martha Berndtson Hoxie (1962);
first husband, John B. Sutcliffe (1976); second husband, Robert M.
Heidenreich (1999); brother, Hall H. Hoxie (1999); and daughter-in-law,
Patricia A. Sutcliffe (1999). She is survived by her sons John "Jack"
H. Sutcliffe, Paul R. Heidenreich, David C. Heidenreich, and Mark M.
Heidenreich; brother, John W. Hoxie of Maui; sister, Lois M. Woodyatt
of Manhattan; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Shawn Sutcliffe, Gina, Scott,
Robert, Michael, Justin and Wesley Heidenreich and Monica Lasher; 10
great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces and grand nephews
and nieces. She had a wide range of friends at the Waterford in
Rossmore, Walnut Creek, where she has lived since 1992. She attended
Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, and is a former member of St.
Emydius Catholic Parish, San Francisco. Family and friends are invited
to a Viewing beginning at 6:00pm on Friday, Sept. 12 with a Prayer
Service at 7:30pm at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly
City, CA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 10:30am at
Saint Emydius Parish Church, 286 Ashton Ave., SF. She will be interred
at Olivet Memorial Park in Colma, CA. Any memorial donations may be
made to a charity of your choosing.
