Chism, Queen Esther, also known as "Esther;" 73, of Santa Ana, California
passed away September 6, 2008 at her home. Esther was born December 24, 1931 in
Cheneyville, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Steve and Ellen Johnson. Esther
is survived by her daughters, Ellen Rowland, and Ayesha Chism-Williams; four
sons, Oliver, Billy, Michael Williams, and Brian Chism-Williams; one sister,
Myrtis Williams; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; as well as a host
of relatives and friends. Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas;
her sons, Steve and Brian Williams and their father, Oliver Williams. Esther was
a retired Cosmetologist who served the community well over 30 years. She was a
loyal member of Gospel Light Church of God In Christ where she served the Lord
with all her heart. She was a master apprentice tailor who was determined and
did receive her AA degree in Tailoring at the age of 70 from Santa Ana College.
Queen Esther was stylish and spirited and lit up the room. She was loyal, loving
and compassionate and always there for her family and friends who are grateful
to have known and loved her, proud to have walked with her, and happy to see her
rewarded in heaven with our Lord. Funeral Service, Friday 9/12 at Godpel Light
Church in Christ, 10 a.m. Interment, Fairhaven Memorial Park. Brown Colonial
