Jacquelyn H. Slee
Slee, Jacquelyn H., of Santa Ana, California, and formerly of Philipsburg, Pa., passed away on Monday, August 4, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Ca. where she was surrounded by loved ones as she peacefully entered heaven. Born August 27, 1925 in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Theodore and Nellie (Johnson) Humphrey. Jacquelyn attended 9th Street Elementary School where, in only the 6th grade, she met the love of her life, William Slee. Jackie graduated from Philipsburg High School in 1943 and she and Bill were married on April 4, 1947. Just recently, they attended a dinner in their honor celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary. Jacquelyn and Bill moved to California in 1963. Jacquelyn was business savvy, especially with the stock market. She was the President of S&S Scientific for 9 years. In addition to her loving husband, who resides in Santa Ana, Jacquelyn is survived by her brother, Richard "Dick" Humphrey and his wife, Darlene of Philipsburg Pennsylvania; nephew, Ted Monroe of Weekiwachee, Florida, many great-nieces, nephews and godchildren. Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Theodore, Max and Bernard Humphrey, and her two sisters, Nellie Monroe and Ruth Roehm. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, August 24th at 3:00 p.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Messiah, 614 N. Bush Street, Santa Ana, California.
