Services will be Friday for Billie June Boegman who passed away on Wednesday
in Santa Clara. She was 72.
Billie was born in Oklahoma, moving to California with her family as a
youngster. After graduation Billie moved to Santa Cruz. Billie loved fishing and
camping. She and her father spent many, many hours fishing throughout the Santa
Cruz area. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time in her garden.
When her children became interested in competitive swimming Billie started her
towards becoming an AAU swim official. She spent many weekends walking pool
decks and became a favorite official of the swim clubs.
Billie is survived by her husband Bob Boegman of San Jose, her children
Vanessa, Valerie, Robbie and Jolene; step children Teri, Karen, John and Jim; 11
grandchildren and 3 great children; her brother Cal and sisters Bonnie and
Becky.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Sept. 18, 10:00 a.m. to
1:00 p.m. at Santa Cruz Memorial, 1927 Ocean Street. Graveside service will
immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m.
