Donald F. Fuller
Donald F. Fuller Don Fuller was born in San Francisco in 1923, and died on July 18, 2008 at the age of 84. Don is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Susan, his son David and daughter-in-law Lydia, his daughter Julia F. Grant, and his grandchildren John B. Grant 3rd , Ann Grant, Alex Fuller, and Caroline Fuller. Don served in a US Army military intelligence unit during WWII, and received an AB in History and a Masters in Library Science from UC Berkeley. He was the City Librarian of Santa Clara from 1968 until his retirement in 1986. Don's distinguished career as a public librarian made the Santa Clara City Library one of the top 10 public libraries in the United States. For many years Don was treasurer of the City Employees Retirement System. An active retiree, Don served on the Santa Clara County Grand Jury and on the Boards of Directors of Senior Adult Legal Assistance, Morning Forum of Los Altos, and Peninsula Funeral Society. For the eleven years prior to his death, he volunteered his wisdom, advice and library skills to the PlaneTree Health Library. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Aug 2, at 11:00 am at the First Unitarian Church of San Jose, 160 N. Third St., San Jose, CA 95112.
