Nancy M. "Nonny" Altieri
Feb. 27, 1911 - July 24, 2008 Resident of Santa Clara, CA Nancy passed away peacefully at age 97 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, where she graduated from St. Mary's College. After moving to California she married and taught English at the College of San Mateo. She will be remembered for her strong religious faith, sense of humor, unwavering support and delicious pasta dinners. Her greatest passion was her love for family and her joy in sharing stories and wisdom with all. Family parties and celebrations always found "Nonny" the center of attention. As the heart and soul of her family she will be missed for her fun-loving nature and unconditional love. We are grateful for the many ways she enriched the lives of all those she touched. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel P. Altieri, five sisters and a brother. Survived by daughters Elaine (Bill) Smith and Nancy C. Altieri, grandchildren Chris (Danielle) Smith, Lisa (Mike) Rothstein, and Brian Smith. Great-grandchildren Jessica, Zoe and Zack Smith, Audrey Rothstein and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Visitation on Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. at SNEIDER & SULLIVAN & O'CONNELL'S FUNERAL HOME, 977 So. El Camino Real, San Mateo, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass Thursday, July 31st, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1040 Alameda de las Pulgas in Belmont.
