Died on October 30, 2009 in Santa Rosa from pneumonia. Vera was born on
September 21, 1923 in London, England and attended Sarum Hall. She served in the
British Navy as a Petty Officer during World War II where she met her husband
Michael Brendan Flanagan. They married in 1947 and lived in London, England
before immigrating in 1953 to San Francisco where Vera was an avid lover of the
opera, ballet, and symphony. In 1982, after raising three children, they moved
to her favorite vacation spot, Carmel, CA where they remained until moving to
Oakmont in 2006. Vera lived every day with a smile and a generous spirit. Vera
is survived by her husband Michael; her children Michael A. Flanagan and his
wife Jamie of Santa Rosa; Amanda Pfafflin and her husband Larry of Chicago, IL;
and Veronica Flanagan of San Francisco; and her grandchildren, Vanessa,
Elizabeth, Brendan, Maureen, & Kevin. Friends are invited to attend Funeral
Mass on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Star of the Valley, 545 White
Oak Drive, Santa Rosa. Interment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Evening Vigil Rites
will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the

EVA FRANCES SCHROFF Entered into rest peacefully at home in
Santa Rosa, CA on September 24, 2009, with her family by her side. Dearly
beloved fifty-one year wife of the late Bernard E. Schroff who passed away in
1992. Loving mother of Ronald B. (Diana) Schroff of Roseville, CA, Sharon M.
(William) Myhre of Rohnert Park, CA, Deborah A. (Jerry) Sullivan of Pacifica, CA
and Stephen J. (Andrea) Schroff of Santa Rosa, CA. Adored grandmother of seven.
Cherished great grandmother of five and great-great grandmother of two. Also
survived by numerous nieces, nephews and host of loving extended family and
friends. A native of San Francisco, CA, age 85 years. Eva is also preceded in
death by her son, Gerald E. Schroff (1997). Eva was a past parishioner of St.
Gabriel's Catholic Church in San Francisco and currently a loyal and dedicated
member of the Cathedral of St. Eugene's in Santa Rosa, CA. She was a member of
the San Francisco Retired Firemen's Wives Club and has been a resident of the
Santa Rosa community for the past thirty-eight years. Family and friends are
invited to meet at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma
Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409) at 12:15 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2009 thence,
to the Cathedral of St. Eugene's (Corner of Farmer's Lane & Montgomery
Drive, Santa Rosa, CA, 95405), where at 1:00 P.M. a Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Santa
Rosa. LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL will provide visitation hours from
11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, where a Vigil Service will
be conducted at 7:00 P.M. in the Main Chapel. As an expression of sympathy,

A former resident of Santa Rosa, passed away into the arms of her Lord at the age of ninety in Napa on September 16, 2009. She was born in Willits, CA and graduated from Ukiah High School. She is survived by her son Leland Mitchell (Arlene) of Napa; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Cleo was a Superior Court clerk for Sonoma County. Two memorial receptions will be held in her honor. The first is in Napa at the Oaktree Vineyards Clubhouse, 2001 Salvador Ave. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009.
