Obituary : Joseph C. Romeo
Joseph C. Romeo A longtime resident of Saratoga, passed away May 19, at the age of 91. Born Feb. 1, 1918, in Calgary, Canada of parents who immigrated from Italy, he had one brother and sister. He lived in Calgary where he married and raised his children until moving to California. Virginia, his beloved wife of 53 years, preceded him. He will be interred alongside her at Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga. He is survived by daughter Antoinette Romeo, son Sandy Romeo, daughter-in-law Cynthia, grandchildren John and David Romeo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A master finishing carpenter for 66 years, he was a member of Carpenters Local 405. Joseph remained an active carpenter, proudly making his copyrighted rocking horses until 2009. He will be remembered as a kind and loving father, husband and friend, and as a man of strength, intelligence, and humor. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave., San Jose.
