Marta Esteverena Of San Francisco, and formerly of Saratoga, CA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 20th, 2009 at her home. Born June 8th, 1944 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she married Rolando Esteverena and embarked upon a loving 42 year relationship. Marta and Rolando were keen sailors, keeping the boat "Buenos Aires" in the SF Bay. They shared many wonderful family vacations to sailing destinations around the world. A lover of the arts and current affairs, Marta was a docent at the SFMOMA, a Commonwealth Club member, and a patron of the SF Symphony. Marta is survived by her husband Rolando, sons Alex and Martín, daughters-in-law Ruth and Rebecca, and beloved grandchildren Amelia, Isabel, Anna, Andrew, Alex and Rosemary Marta, all of whom will miss "Grandmama" very much. A mass celebrating Marta's life will be held at St. Ignatius Church at 650 Parker Ave, San Francisco on Friday, June 26th, 2009 at 10 a.m.
