 Gerald E. "Jerry" Gallagher In Saratoga July 8, 2009. Loving husband of the late
Kathryn A. "Kay" Gallagher for 641/2 years; dear father of David E. (Helen)
Gallagher Sr. and Kevin F. (Barbara) Gallagher; loving grandfather of Jennifer
(John) Everett, David E. Jr.(Amy) and Joseph W. (Adrianne) Gallagher, Kelly,
Leigh and Sean Gallagher; and great-grandfather of Stephen, Reid, Ember, Tessa
Rhen, Emma Grace, Strawberry Rose and Azonie Jade. Jerry was a graduate of
Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1931 and the University of San Francisco,
Class of 1935, receiving his bachelor's degree in political science.
Commissioned a lieutenant in the US Maritime Service, serving three years as a
combination purser/pharmacist mate during WWII in the Merchant Marine. retired
ambulance steward for the City and County of San Francisco, with 30 years of
dedicated and loyal service. A member and past-president of South San Francisco
Parlor #157 NSGW, Fryers Club of San Francisco; Apollo Lodge #120 IOOF; Past
Noble Grand of Volcano Lodge #25 lOOF; member of Golden Gate Chapter of US
Merchant Marine and Retired Veteran of SF Police Officers (honorary); and the
Saratoga Retirement Community. A native of San Francisco; age 95. Family and
friends may call Monday 2:00PM to 4:00PM at SULLIVAN'S FUNERAL HOME, 2254 Market
St., bet Noe and Sanchez Sts and after 6:30PM at St. Gabriel's Church, 40th
Avenue and Ulloa St. where the Vigil Service will be at 7:00PM. Family and
friends are also invited to the Funeral Mass Tuesday at 11:00 AM, also at St.
Gabriel's, followed by Committal in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in Jerry's
memory preferred to donor's favorite charity.
