Charles MacFarland
MacFarland, Charles SARATOGA SPRINGS Charles "Wes" MacFarland, 92, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital. He was born in Saugerties, N.Y. on May 10, 1916. Wes was the son of the late William and Rose Anna MacFarland. He was predeceased by his wife Rita and son, James MacFarland. Wes was a member of the Watervliet Elks and VFW in Waterford, N.Y. He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for JA Bear Manning in Green Island, N.Y. He is survived by his niece, Barbara Youngman of Cary, N.C. and his nephew, Matthew Fleming of Colonie. Barbara and Matt would like to send their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Saratoga Hospital Nursing Facility for all their kindness and care of Wes for the past several years. Wes requested that his remains be sent to Albany Medical Center for Medical Research. Memorial contributions may be made to NENY Alzheimer's Association, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206 or Northeast Association of the Blind, 301 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12206 in memory of Wes MacFarland.
