QUACKENBUSH Jessica Alice The soul of Jessica Alice Quackenbush, 10, was freed to join her Heavenly Father on October 8th, 2008. She was born July 11, 1998, to former Toledoan, Kimberly Kirkbride and Floyd Quackenbush of Walnut Creek, CA. Jessica, from birth struggled within the confines of a limited body and suffered from complications from Dandy Walker Syndrome. Though she could not see, walk or speak, her hearing was acute. She responded to music especially to her mother's singing. The nurses at Saratoga, CA Sub-Acute Hospital, knew to start her favorite Barney music when caring for her. During the 7 years Jessica was a resident of Saratoga, she inspired all who knew her to appreciate the simple things we all take for granted. Sometimes God puts these special ones on this earth only to be loved and she was dearly. Jessica is survived by her parents, Kimberly and Floyd Quackenbush; brother, Nicholas; grandmothers, Genevieve Geha-Kirkbride, Vivian Quackenbush; grandfather, Willis Kirkbride Sr.; aunt, Kori Kirkbride, and uncle, Willis Kirkbride Jr., many great aunts, uncles, cousins and her loving Saratoga family. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Saratoga; you were there when we could not be. A Memorial Service will be held at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga, CA next week. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to the Jessica Quackenbush Memorial Fund at any Huntington National Bank.
